Jared Leto

Jared Leto is an American actor with an estimated net worth of $40 million. He was born on December 26, 1971 in Louisiana. His mother is Constance. His parents divorced very early in his life and his father went to live with his new wife, but later committed suicide when Jared Leto was only eight. It was a very difficult time for his family, and he credits his mother for raising him to be the man he is today. He and his mother and his older brother, Shannon, lived with his mother’s parents for much of their childhood as their mother was a single mother. However, she later remarried and then he took on his stepfather’s last name. He also has two younger brothers from his father’s second marriage prior to his death.

Jared Leto got into acting and music when he was just a young boy. His mother considered herself a hippie and wanted her sons to be very involved in the arts. She raised them to appreciate all the arts, and that is where they developed their love of theater, acting and music. Creativity was celebrated in a major way in their household, and it was something that would later prove very beneficial to the boys and their mother. When Jared Leto was in high school, he dropped out in his second year. Later, though, he decided to return to school and finish his high school education. He went to the Emerson Prep School in Washington D.C. In order to further his career in the arts, he made the decision to go to the University of the Arts in Philly, and then went to the School of Visual Arts in NYC.

In 1992, he moved to LA. He was going to make it as an actor, and he needed to be there to make that happen. He was there for two years taking on such minor roles that many of them are not even credited before he landed a role on a television show with Claire Danes called My So-Called Life. The show was a huge success, and it made Jared Leto a famous name and face. The same year he starred in movies with Alicia Silverstone and Christina Ricci. He’d officially made it in his acting career.

He’s made approximately two dozen films to date, but it’s some more recent films that have garnered him the most attention. He took home an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in “Dallas Buyer’s Club,” in which he starred as a transgender drag queen alongside Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner. He’s also now taking on the role of the Joker in the upcoming film “Suicide Squad,” and he is a famous musician. He is the lead singer in a band called 30 Seconds to Mars, and they often tour and make good music. He spent five years focusing on his music before he came back to acting and took home an Oscar, and now he is back and better than ever.
