Global football icon and World Cup winner Pelé, also known as Edson Arantes do Nascimento has sadly passed on to eternity at the age of 82.

Pelé was a Brazilian professional footballer who played as a forward. Regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and labeled “the greatest” by FIFA, he was among the most successful and popular sports figures of the 20th century.

To some, the King of Football has died. The footballing world is mourning the death of the great man.

Tributes are pouring in for the late Pelé.

Pelé was born on October 23, 1940, in Três Corações, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He died on December 29th, 2022.

Pelé died at the age of 82 after battling cancer for a longer period. He underwent surgery to have a tumor removed from his colon. He was undergoing chemotherapy at the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo.
