Sean and Conor Price are best known for appearing on ‘The X Factor’ in 2017. Their first audition has, to date, amassed almost four million views on YouTube. The Irish duo had quite the journey on the show, but there was one thing that remained consistent: their undeniable talent. With unique rapping skills and a captivating voice, Sean and Conor’s popularity grew as the series went on. Being mentored by Simon Cowell, their performances each week gave them the opportunity to showcase their talent and finished in ninth place.
Following the show’s completion, they featured as part of ‘The X Factor Live Tour,’ alongside other acts from the series, performing at arenas across the UK and Ireland. Their impressive debut single ‘Be Like You,’ an empowering message to fans encouraging them to be themselves, was released shortly thereafter. The catchy anthem ‘Get Lost’ represented their second single, once again gaining them an excellent chart position.
Here at CelebMix, we attended the Belfast date of their ‘Be Like You Tour.’ Keep reading to check out our review of the gig!
Ben Cutler from Belfast, was the support act, supporting the boys on their Belfast and Derry date. He got the crowd ready for Sean and Conor to take to the stage. With an acoustic and fairly stripped back set, he performed several of his own original tracks. You can check out his Facebook page here.
After a short interval, it was then time for Sean and Conor to take to the stage. Taking it back to where their ‘X Factor’ journey began, they started their set with track ‘Along The Watchtower,’ which was described as ‘one of the best auditions’ by Simon Cowell when performed at their first audition.
One thing that particularly stood out throughout their set was the use of guitar. Every track was performed with Sean’s guitar, making every performance that bit more special.
As their set progressed, they performed a range of covers, along with their own original tracks. Not only was their musical talent on display, but their phenomenal song-writing ability was also showcased. The talented duo performed tracks that no doubt have a positive effect on those in the audience. With songs about topics such as the importance of hard work in order to achieve a dream and being unique, written in such a way that the message of the track is conveyed, each member in the audience, regardless of their age, could in one way or another, resonate with message conveyed through the song performed.
A particularly poignant segment of their set was the performance of tracks that were extremely stripped back and highlighted the true rawness and beauty of their vocals, such as their cover of ‘Scared To Be Lonely’ – the popular hit by Martin Garrix and Dua Lipa. This segment of the show was another opportunity that allowed the two brothers to showcase their talent as musicians, singers and song-writers.
Not only did their unfaltering energy and talent shine throughout their performance, but their stage presence highlighted their true gratitude and appreciation to their adoring and dedicated fans. Their bond is truly reflected in the chemistry on-stage. Their down-to-earth and gracious nature was evidenced.
After working through a host of original tracks, covers and tracks from their time on ‘The X Factor’, their Encore segment was made up of tracks ‘Be Like You’ and ‘Get Lost’ and finishing where they began with ‘Along The Watchtower’ – rounding up a fantastic performance.
With an EP set to be released in the coming months, it seems like Sean and Conor are set for continued success. We can’t wait to hear more original new music from them!
