UFC superstar Conor McGregor shows off battered and bloody hand after filming scenes for movie debut

Conor McGregor has uploaded a picture of his hand that has apparently taken a beating while filming scenes for his movie debut.

In August, it was revealed the UFC star will appear alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in Amazon Prime’s new re-imagining of the 1980s classic, Road House.

The Academy Award nominee will star as a former UFC fighter who takes a job as a bouncer at a road house in the Florida Keys but soon discovers everything is not what it seems.

While it is currently not known who McGregor will play in his acting debut, it has been confirmed it will be an original character and the charismatic Irishman will not be playing himself.

‘Notorious’ has been filming in the Dominican Republic since September and it seems like seriously hard work based on his latest social media post.

The 34-year-old uploaded a picture of his hand which had been cut open on one of the knuckles and was covered in blood, suggesting he’d been filming a fight scene.

This will have come naturally to McGregor, who is a former dual-weight UFC champion, and undoubtedly the biggest name in MMA history.

However, he hasn’t competed since July 2021 when he fractured his tibia and fibula at UFC 264. Since then, he’s been healing up ahead of his comeback fight that is expected to take place in 2023.

McGregor, who recently distanced himself from rumours of a rematch with boxing icon Floyd Mayweather, seems intent on getting his UFC career back on track when he returns next year.

The former featherweight and lightweight king has picked up just one win since 2016 and is now set to compete in the welterweight division after seriously bulking up during his time away from fighting.

In his comeback fight, McGregor is hoping to compete for the 170lb title currently held by Leon Edwards. However, ‘Rocky’ recently told talkSPORT that he only has eyes for Kamaru Usman at the moment.

The 170lb duo are expected to rematch for welterweight gold in England early next year meaning an immediate title shot is unlikely for McGregor, especially when you consider he is in poor form and is unranked in the division.
